The book has 268 engravings and cuts selected from Frank
Martin's output of nearly 600 engravings. It is typeset by Charles
Hall in Eric Gill`s Joanna and printed on 148gsm Mohawk paper by the
Aldgate Press, 13 x 9 inches, 160 pages plus printed endpapers. Where
a second colour was originally used, this has been reproduced and there
are 14 pages with a second colour.
The book is produced in 4 different editions, all signed by Frank Martin and
Hal Bishop and numbered:
280 copies, bound quarter-buckram with printed pattern paper boards to a design
by Frank Martin
42 Special copies, bound quarter-leather, with blocked woodcut on paper boards,
and 4 hitherto unpublished wood engravings and cuts printed by David Esslemont,
signed and numbered in a folder, all contained in a slipcase
All editions are out of print.
