ABOUT THE PREVIOUS PARROT PRESS

The Previous Parrot Press is a progression from the Inky Parrot Press which I ran in the '80s at the then Oxford Polytechnic. As the College wouldn't give up the title when I left, a new title was needed.

The Press's main interest is in 20th century Illustration, I haven't published a book without a picture yet. Most books are printed litho by various commercial printers, now all direct from disc. When there are suitable lino or woodblocks the books are printed letterpress. Some have been laser printed, some are a mixture of laser and litho and the latest litho and letterpress.

Sixty books have been produced so far by the two Parrot Presses and I hope to keep publishing at the rate of two or three a year. Prices range from £9.80 to £630, hand-colouring and full leather bindings add a lot to the cost.
